Early Surgery Closure - Wednesday 11th July 2018

We will be closing early on Wednesday 11th July for staff training.

Our surgeries and phone lines will be open until 12:30PM. If you have any medical emergencies after the lines have closed, please call 111. 


Wheelchair Service Survey

The commissioners of Wheelchair Services across Derbyshire are currently reviewing the current service with a view to developing a revised service from January 2019.

In order to do this they would like to hear about the experiences and views of people who have used or who are currently using wheelchairs and/or carers.

GDPR - Our Practice Policies have been Updated

Our practice policies have been updated in line with the recently introduced GDPR.

The On Day Service - Starting from 12th April 2018 at Littlewick Medical Centre

The On Day Service is running in Ilkeston to improve access to primary care.

Patients who call our surgery for an appointment may be directed on that same day to the On Day Service where they will be able to be seen by an advanced nurse practitioner at Littlewick Medical Centre on Nottingham Road.

The On Day Service is available from 8.00am to 6.30pm on weekdays, excluding bank holidays.


Dementia Friendly Matinée Screenings

Matinée provides dementia friendly cinema screenings across Derbyshire for people living with memory challenges, their family and friends.Manitee Poster 2018

The screenings are as follows:

  • Singin' in the Rain - Wednesday 21st February 2018
  • Annie Get Your Gun - Wednesday 16th May 2018
  • The King And I - Wednesday 19th September 2018

All screenings are held at St John's Church Hall, Canal Street, Long Eaton, NG10 1AR and cost £4 (including tea, coffee, biscuits and cake) 
Patrons with dementia may bring one carer, family member or friend for free.

Doors open at 1pm, films start at 1:30pm and finish at 4pm.

MJOG - Text Messaging appointment reminders

We have a brand new messaging service which will text you:

- An appointment confirmation when you book an appointment
- An appointment reminder the day before your appointment

You can also now cancel your appointment by texting 'CANCEL' to the phone number given in your reminder.

This should help free our appointment telephone lines up making it easier to get through to one of our staff.


Online Access - SystmOnline

You can now book/cancel appointments and order repeat medication on line.

To sign up you will need to bring photo ID to reception.


New Cotmanhay Surgery

Our Cotmanhay Surgery has now relocated to:

1 Skeavingtons Lane, Cotmanhay, Ilkeston, Derbys. DE7 8SX


Over 75 Health Check

All patients over 75 who do not already attend the surgery for an annual review are welcome to book a health check with the health care assistant. 

The health care assistant will check you blood pressure, weight, height, urine and enquire about any health needs.  Please book with the receptionist if you wish to have a health check.


Pneumonia Vaccine

Available for free to patients over 65
